Appointment:

Dr. El-Hassan is currently the Associate Director of the Center and has been KASC Program Coordinator since 2001. He was also a Research Assistant Professor for the Hall Center for the Humanities.

Main Areas of Interest:

Dr. El-Hassan's research interests are in African and Sudanese studies, education and development in Africa, contemporary African immigration identity, study abroad, and the phenomenon of non-return .

Languages:

Dr. El-Hassan is a native speaker of Arabic, and speaks the classical, modern standard, and Sudanese and Egyptian dialects.
